Wulf-Dieter Koch

Wulf Koch was a member of UMFK's 1988 championship soccer team, which captured the North East College Athletic Conference championship and the NAIA District 5 semifinal.

Born in Roth, Germany, outside of Nuremberg, Wulf Koch attended UMFK from 1985 to 1989 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.  While at Fort Kent, he was a standout soccer player for four years.

Wulf led the Bengal men in scoring as a freshman and sophomore, and captained the squad during his junior and senior years.  He was named to the All-North East College Athletic Conference team his junior and senior campaigns.  He also was named to the All-Maine Collegiate Team and honored as the Male Athlete of the Year during his senior year.  He finished his UMFK career with 32 goals and 28 assists.

Off the field, Koch was president of his junior and senior classes, treasurer of the UMFK Student Senate, and was the recipient of the "Distinguished Service Award" during his senior year. After completing a master's degree in Massachusetts, Koch returned to Fort Kent as acting athletic coordinator, and coached the Bengal men in during the 1991 and 1992 seasons.

Wulf has gone on to distinguish himself as a soccer coach recognized throughout the nation, as well as on the NAIA championship level.  He currently is the men's coach at Auburn University's Montgomery campus.
