Bengals Ties Bobcats in Intense Match-up
Final | 1 | 2 | T |
---|---|---|---|
University of Maine Fort Kent | 1 | 0 | 1 |
Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse | 1 | 0 | 1 |
On today, Oct 12th, at 12:00 pm, our Bengals grace the field in Syracuse against Bryant Stratton’s Bobcats. The Bobcats seemly brought the same energy ready to put the match away. In the 18th minute, Bobcat’s Kim Hout fired off her first shot, earning the first goal of the game. The Bengals then pulled themselves collectively as a team and began to increase their intensity on the field. Bengal’s Gizela Carranza was able to answer back with a goal scored in the 28th minute, pushing the score to 1-1.
Although the Bengals were able to even the score, they went into halftime ready to get some motivation game strategy from Coach Smith. The Bengals and the Bobcats kept the tempo all game, both sides earning fouls and a couple of shiny yellow and disheartening red cards. The match ended up being pushed into 2 overtimes, but still, the score remained 1-1 at the final buzzer.
A tough, well-fought-out match indeed.
The Bengals (Women) head next to Colchester, VT, to take on St. Micheal College’s Knights on Oct 14th at 3 pm. Be sure to catch the live stream via https://athletics.umfk.edu/schedule/wsoccer/2021/
