Lucky 13 Goals for Bengals in Win Over Unity

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Women’s Soccer team had its home opener against Unity College on Friday afternoon as the kick-off to UMFK Homecoming Weekend. From start to finish, the Bengals dominated Unity College in a rain-filled soccer match at Alumni Memorial Field, finishing off the Rams 13-0.

Sophomore forward Tolu Oyenini led the way for the Bengals with three goals, but UMFK had a number of different players put their names in the scoring column as Mili Alvarez, Ronnique Douglas-Edwards, Hope Shea, Searra Herbert, Cameika Davis, Jordan Maxwell, Veronica Paz and Vinette Blake all scored for the Bengals. The Bengals showed off their stifling defense, as well as Unity was not able to get a shot on goal. The combination of a lethal offensive attack paired with the tough defense has kept them undefeated with a record of 3-0-1.

UMFK travels South to Machias, Maine, as they take on the University of Maine at Machias on Saturday afternoon.
