Upcoming 2019 UMFK Summer Classic
The 2019 UMFK Summer Classic, which showcases some of the top girls’ and boys’ high school basketball teams throughout the state of Maine, will be held in Fort Kent this weekend at both the UMFK Sports Center and Fort Kent Community High School.
Games will be taking place Friday afternoon starting at 4 PM, all day Saturday starting at 8 AM all the way through 9 PM, and most of Sunday, once again starting at 8 AM and wrapping up with championship games at 4 and 6 PM at UMFK.
This is the fifth season that UMFK Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Bird has organized the tournament. Last year’s tournament included Class D Northern Maine Girl’s Champions, Penobscot Valley High School, and last season’s Boy’s Champion, Caribou High School, went on to win the Class B Boy’s State Championship.
Come on up to Fort Kent this weekend to see some high-level basketball and potentially an early look at this season’s state champion!
