The University of Maine at Fort Kent Men’s Soccer team was shut out Monday afternoon in what was their first loss of the regular season. The loss came at the hands of the Cape Breton University Capers, who notched three goals on the scoreboard to do away with the Bengals.

Although it was tied at zero at halftime, the home-field advantage for the Capers prevailed in the second half as they scored an early goal only three minutes into the second half. Another goal came in the 58th minute, and a final goal sealed the deal for Cape Breton in the 83rd minute.

The Bengals struggled offensively and were only able to attempt three shots on goal throughout the match. The Bengals now sit with a record of 2-1-1 and will look to turn things around as they return to Fort Kent for a home match against Berkeley College of New York on Saturday, September 8th.
