Bengals Take First Loss of Season
The University of Maine at Fort Kent Women’s Basketball team took their first loss of the regular season today against a rival, Fisher College, at the Villa Maria College tournament in Buffalo, New York. The Bengals started off strong and jumped out to a 19-8 lead, but the Falcons played tough and tied the game at 30 late in the second quarter. The Falcons shot tremendously from the floor as they made 10 three-pointers throughout the game. Vivian Lara could not be contained by the Bengal defense as she exploded for 34 points. Foul trouble plagued the Bengals, and although they played tough and cut the lead to three in the fourth quarter, they were never able to get over the hump. Tajaheray McMahan kept the Bengals in the game with her 21 points and seven rebounds. UMFK is now 1 and 1 with a game against Villa Maria College on Sunday to close out the tournament.
